The Sunset Harbor Residences is an upcoming mixed-use project set to be built in Miami Beach’s elegant Sunset Harbour neighborhood, located south of the four Sunset Islands. The building will consist of a total of fifteen Miami Beach luxury condos for sale built on top of premium retail available with about 2,000 square feet and will be located in the southwestern corner of the neighborhood providing views of the Venetian Islands, Biscayne Bay, and Maurice Gibb Park, among others.
Besides the units of Sunset Harbor Residences, one of the more unusual yet surprising aspects of the project was the decision by a Miami Beach committee to actually recommend making the height of Sunset Harbor Residences taller, a rare move where developers are typically forced to lower heights to meet code restrictions. Miami Beach’s land use committee agreed to raise the project’s height from 50 to 90 feet.
Upon completion, Sunset Harbor Residences will be located at 1733-1769 Purdy Avenue. The premium retail will consist of eight lots that were acquired back in 2014. After passing the height hurdle, the project will now be evaluated by the entire Miami Beach city commission.
Sunset Harbor Residences is just one of several efforts to make the Sunset Harbour neighborhood a more pedestrian-friendly area, with indoor and al fresco cafes, covered retail spaces, and more.
