Star Island is an island community located in Miami, Florida. The residents on the highly exclusive island, there are only 33 houses in the neighborhood, live up to the name of the isle. The area is known for housing some of the most sought after music, sports, and entertainment individuals, like Shaquille O’Neal, Gloria Estefan, Diddy, Rosie O’ Donnell, Kanye West and Paulina Rubio. Initially developer Carl Fisher, the individual who purchased the different lands that would become the city of Miami Beach owned the land the section is located on. In 1922, the Army Corps of Engineers completed dredging the portion that was to become Star Island.
